A process for changing weft supply reels to a series of looms in a row, one behind another, in which the reels are transported from a storage point and set in place on the loom. The reels are distributed to each loom in accordance with the weft specification requirement.It is proposed that use should be made of any overhead gantry, such as that which would be employed for a suction and cleaning machine. This would enable the weft supply reels to be advanced at the head of each row of looms from the side, and avoiding hindrance. The reels may be stacked on pallets moved by forklift.
