The compressed straw strand of uniform thickness is wrapped in a binding tape to give it a required shape. Then differently long pieces are cut-off from the strand in accordance with the required shape. The cut lengths are so interconnected as to obtain the shape.The intersection points, after the interconnection, are fixed by wrapping with the binding tape, as are the overlapping ends. Instead of interconnection, the strand may be bent and the void refilled with compacted straw.
