PURPOSE:To form a high quality image rapidly and easily without leaving a leuco- dye, by using a developing solution containing a small amount of benzyl alcohol for color development, washing the developed image with water immediately after the development and processing it with a bleach fix solution containing an organic metal complex salt. CONSTITUTION:A developing solution containing benzyl alcohol in an amount 7ml/l or less is used for color development, and immediately after the development, water washing is made, and then, the following bleach fix processing is performed without processing with an acidic stop solution. For a bleach fix solution a solution is used containing metallic ions, such as Fe or Co, coordinated by an organic acid, such as aminocarboxylic acid, oxalic acid, or citric acid, represented by formulae I, II (A1-A6 are each an optionally substituted hydrocarbon group, and Z is a hydrocarbon group O, S, or formula III, and A7 is a hydrocarbon group). A preferable pH value of the bleach fix solution is 6.5-7.8. Image quality is enhanced by lowering the content of benzyl alcohol affecting remaining of a leuco-compound and avoiding both of acidic stop processing and bleach fix processing immediately after development. |
