METHOD OF PREPARING PASTES OF THE DI-SALT OF alpha -SULPHONIC FATTY ACID

The invention concerns pastes of di-salt of alpha -sulphonic fatty acid which are free-flowing without the need for additives to improve the flow properties and in which the di-salt is the sole surfactant. Such pastes can be produced by sulphonating fatty acids, partially neutralizing the acidic alpha -sulphonic fatty acid to give the mono-salt of the alpha -sulphonic fatty acid and then spray-neutralizing. The pale-coloured pastes thus produced preferably contain up to 65 % by wt. of the di-salt.
