Bathtubs, particularly of the whirlpool type, are usually clad by a bathtub casing composed of plate-shaped elements, which also supports the edge of the tub. For the inspection and maintenance of the technical power units on whirlpool tubs, the usual inspection apertures are insufficient, and larger apertures impair stability. By using a front frame (6) on the framework (3) which supports the tub, it is possible to support the tub edge (9) and to employ at least one large cladding plate (12) in a hinged manner.
