The invention relates to analogue/digital converters. It is desired to limit the power consumption and to improve the compromise between the various performance aspects of the converter. A general converter structure consists in having, on the one hand, a coarse converter for the high-order bits and, on the other hand, a fine converter for the low-order bits; one of them (generally the fine converter), includes differential amplifiers [AD(1) to AD(N)] receiving the voltage to be converted (Ve) and a reference voltage. It is proposed according to the invention to place sample-and-hold circuits [EB(1) to EB(N)] at the output of these differential amplifiers and to dispense with the sample-and-hold circuit often provided upstream from these amplifiers. <IMAGE> |
