PURPOSE:To purify nitrogen oxides from combustion exhaust gas containing oxygen to a practical level by constituting the catalyst for purification of exhaust gas of mordenite- and/or ferrierite-type zeolite containing indium. CONSTITUTION:This catalyst for purification of exhaust gas to be used to remove nitrogen oxides in combustion exhaust gas exhausted from factories or automobiles consists of mordenite-and/or ferrierite-type zeolite containing indium. In the process of purification of exhaust gas, nitrogen oxides are purified from combustion exhaust gas containing oxygen by using hydrocarbons in the presence of this catalyst. The method to introduce indium to zeolite is not limited, however such a method as to exchange cations in the zeolite with indium cation or to impregnate the zeolite with a soln. containing the objective metal, may be used. |
