PROTECTING BASE FABRIC AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To obtain a soft and lightweight protecting base fabric excellent in resistance to wear and cutting by using highly elastic yarns. CONSTITUTION:This base fabric is a knitted fabric composed of (A) 20-45wt.% of highly elastic fibers and (B) the rest of fibers other than the fibers A, with its surface bearing numerous projections 10. The projections 10 are made up from the fibers A or filament yarns predominant in the fibers A; while the flat parts 20 from the fibers B or filament yarns predominant in the fibers B. The fibers B are higher in thermal shrinkage rate than the fibers A by >=25%.
