TOOL FOR TREATING OUTER SURFACE OF WIRE ROPE

PURPOSE:To provide a tool capable of easily applying fretting treatment to the entire outer surface of a wire rope having a large twist by a brush. CONSTITUTION:A rotatable holder 6 is attached to the outer periphery of a cartridge 5 holding a brush 4 having flocked bristles 3 inwardly arranged thereto in a circumferential state so that the tips thereof are brought into contact with the outer surface of a wire rope 2 to be treated so as to surround the rope 2. When the holder 6 is moved along the wire rope 2 by grasping a handle, the brush 4 engaged with the twist on the outer surface of the wire rope 2 spirally moves along the twist to certainly come into contact with the whole of the protruding and recessed parts of the outer surface of the wire rope 2 to perform the rust-removing or coating of the wire rope 2.
