PURPOSE: To allow a sealing device for sealing a shaft guided through a casing wall to maintain a good sealing action during a long period of use. CONSTITUTION: A jacket 10 is surrounded on the side facing a housing wall 1 in a partial axial area by a second reinforcing ring 11 made of elastomeric material, and the second reinforcing ring 11 makes contact with the casing wall 1 at least partially during proper use under radial biasing. The jacket 10 projects radially beyond the second reinforcing ring 11 outside the partial axial area as manufactured. |
