PURPOSE:To make the thickness of an air bag device small and also quicken the opening of the module cover of the air bag device. CONSTITUTION:An ignition agent 38 is provided at the center portion of the inside of a container 30, and is ignited by means of an igniter 40. As a result, a gas generation agent 42 starts gas generation reaction, and gas that is going to spout through gas-spouting holes 34 pushes up a plate 44, and is spouted sideward. Accordingly, an inflater 28 comes not to protrude into an air bag device, and the thickness of the air bag device becomes small. Due to the plate 44 being lifted up, a rift runs at the tear line of a module cover, and it follows that the module cover is quickly developed. |
