PURPOSE:To separate and remove foreign materials such as small shrimps or small shellfishes from a laver mixed solution. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus for removing foreign materials in laver is obtained by dividing the first separation chamber 10 for feeding a laver mixed solution and the second separation chamber 11 for discharging the laver mixed solution with a separation wall 12 of a separation drum 8, forming slender separation holes 13 having a slightly larger hole width than the thickness of raw laver in the separation wall 12 and installing a water jetting means for jetting water from the first separation chamber 10 to the side of the second separation chamber 11 and directing the jetted water toward the separation holes 13. Although the soft thin raw laver of the laver mixed solution in the first separation chamber 10 can efficiently be made to flow through the separation holes in the separation wall to the second separation chamber 11 with the jetted water, larger foreign materials such as small shrimps or small shellfishes than the hole width of the separation holes are engaged with the hole edges of the separation holes and car be prevented from flowing to the second separation chamber 11. Thereby, the foreign materials such as the small shrimps or small shellfishes can be separated and removed from the laver mixed solution to improve the quality of the dried laver in the subsequent step. |
