DURABLE SHAPE FIXING AGENT FOR PROTEINACEOUS FIBER PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To prepare a fixing agent capable of stably holding the shape imparted to proteinaceous fiber even in exposure to hot water or steam without depositing white powdery substances on fiber products after fixing the shape and causing the discoloring or embrittlement of the fiber products or emitting malodor. CONSTITUTION:This is an improvement in a durable shape fixing agent for proteinaceous fiber containing a cysteine compound composed of cysteine or a derivative thereof capable of cleaving disulfide bonds in the proteinaceous fiber in a rebindable state. This shape fixing agent comprises >=50mol% N-acyl- cysteine or its salt when the cysteine compound is 100mol% and further an oxirane compound bindable to active hydrogen in the proteinaceous fiber or the oxirane compound and a protein hydrolyzate in addition to the N-acyl- cysteine or its salt.
