PURPOSE:To prevent the mixing of air bubbles with ink and to perform the discharge of air bubbles and the restoration of clogging without using an exclusive pump by moving an elastic member into an exterior member with the consumption of ink by negative pressure due to the surface tension of the ink to always separate air from the ink. CONSTITUTION:An elastic member 2 is inserted in the rear end of an exterior member 1 having the same cross section under pressure. At the time of the filling of the exterior member 1 with ink 3, a supply needle 7 is passed through the air hole provided to a tail plug 4 and allowed to pierce through the elastic member 2 to enable the ink to fill the exterior member 1 without mixing the ink with air bubbles. Further, the hole of the elastic member 2 after the supply needle 7 is pulled out is closed by the elasticity of the elastic member 2. The modulus of elasticity of the elastic member 2 is set so that the resistance at the time of the supply of the ink 3 due to the coefficient of friction with the exterior member 1 is made lower than the suction pressure due to the surface tension of the ink 3 on the surface of the nozzle 8 of an ink head 6 and the elastic member 2 is easily made movable with the consumption of the ink at the time of printing. Therefore, the residual amt. of the ink can be visually confirmed and the ink can be always supplied to the head under constant pressure to be consumed to the last. |
