PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a device, curtail the number of parts, insure a mounting space, restrain increase of the cost, and the like, by arranging a dog clutch to engage or disengage a differential case with or from a planet carrier, and operating the dog clutch by means of an electromagnetic solenoid. CONSTITUTION:When a controller 39 outputs a differential lock signal D, an electromagnetic actuator 29 is excited. Then an armature 36 is moved to the left in the figure by magnetic pressing force, and hence a pair of teeth 322, 361 are engaged with each other against the energization force of a spring 40. Namely, the dog clutch 28 is engaged, so as to integrate a planet carrier 32 and a right differential case 24. As a result of this, after torque is transmitted to the right and left differential cases 24, 23, the armatue 36, and the planet carrier 32 and branched off, both are independently finally transmitted to right and left axle shafts 26, 25. Consequently, if one driving wheel is stuck, a half torque is surely transmitted to the other driving wheel, and hence they can easily get out of the stuck.
