PURPOSE:To obtain a coating composition which can clearly color a material without detriment to its soft handling, scarcely discolors, is safe for the human body, does not cause environmental pollution in the coloration of the material because it is of nonsolvent type, and is particularly desirable for the coloration of an ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene fishing line. CONSTITUTION:This coating composition comprises an aqueous medium, a pigment, a (meth)acrylic acid polymer and an ethyleneimide derivative, and the amount of the (meth)acrylic acid polymer used is 8-12 times by weight as large as that of the pigment used, while that of the ethyleneimine derivative used is 0.3-2 times by weight as large as that of the pigment used. An ultrahigh- molecular-weight polyethylene fishing line is colored with this composition in such a manner that the fishing line has respective colors for its sections of a given length. |
