<p>PURPOSE:To provide a simple and accurate method for measuring an amount of backlash of a rolling down device of a mill. CONSTITUTION:This is a method to measure an amount of backlash of the rolling down device which adjusts a draft position of an upper roll 3 of the mill in which a pair of upper and lower rolls 1, 3 are assembled, through right and left rolling down screws 5a, 5b as a rolling down motor 11 is rotated. After the rolling down motor 11 is rotated and stopped once, it is rotated again in the reverse direction and the timing to start the rotation of the rolling down motor 11 is measured through a detector 13 of the number of rotation of the moor. On one hand, the timing to begin moving right and left rolling down screws 5a, 5b are detected through screw position detectors 14a, 14b and amounts of deviation of right and left rolling down systems are required by detecting deviations of the respective timings.</p> |
