<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the subject new compounds, capable of manifesting in vitro inhibiting activity against the proliferation of a cancerous cell P388 and useful as an antitumor agent. CONSTITUTION:This compounds of formulas I to III (R is H or OH-protecting group), e.g. cyclozoanthamine of formula IV. The compounds of formulas I to III are obtained by pulverizing a coelenterate, e.g. a zoanthidean polyp of the genus Zoanthus in an organic solvent, extracting the compounds therefrom and further separating the extracted compounds by chromatography.</p> |
