CONSTITUTION:In a device separating an ion aqueous soln., a passage for an ion-containing aqueous solution is formed and the aqueous soln. is allowed to flow through the passage at a flow velocity as high as possible in a laminar flow state generating no turblent flow and a ferromagnetic field is applied to the aqueous soln. in the direction crossing the flow of the aqueous soln. at a right angle to bring about charge separation by Lorenz electromotive voltage and the ion accumulated on the peripheral wall of the passage is separated and collected. As a result, the ion aqueous soln. is not obstructed by an insulator to be efficiently separated and this device can be applied to the desalting of seawater and the production of ultrapure water.
