摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To satisfy a demand for more efficiency, especially for decreasing electric power consumption in oxygen separation process, when proceeding separation of oxygen from a gas mixture, by proceeding selective adsorption of nitrogen using an adsorbent having selective adsorption for nitrogen. CONSTITUTION: With respect to a selective adsorption of nitrogen from a gas mixture comprising nitrogen and the other gaseous component having lower adsorption than nitrogen, the process consists of bringing the gas mixture into contact with a selective adsorbent for nitrogen in an adsorbent zone, allowing nitrogen to be selectively adsorbed to the adsorbent and passing the other gas mixture component having low adsorption capacity to out of the zone. And the adsorbent zone has an isothermal adsorption of nitrogen of at least about 0.3 millimoles/g and an isothermal, binary adsorption selectivity of at least 17 N2 millimoles/O2 millimole, and consists of an adsorbent having the nitrogen adsorption capacity at a given adsorption selectivity (S) not exceeding a value of 0.0667×(S)-0.667.</p>
