PURPOSE:To stably emit ink by sucking a proper amt. of ink by detecting whether an ink supply container inserted under pressure is a new one or a re-inserted one to alter the suction amt. of ink in suction operation corresponding to the detected result. CONSTITUTION:A power supply is closed and a container mounting detection part detects whether an ink supply container 21 (hereinbelow referred to as a container) is mounted. When the mounting of the container is confirmed, an ink exhaustion detecting part detects whether the residual amt. of the ink in the container is a predetermined value or more. When it is confirmed that the residual amt. of the ink is a predetermined value or more, a detachment detecting part 14 detects whether the mounted container is inserted first. In the case of the first (new container) insertion, a suction mode setting the suction amt. of the ink low is taken because the mixing amt. of air bubbles is low to perform suction operation to transfer to a recording mode. Since the mixing amt. of air bubbles becomes much in the case of the container on the way of use, a suction mode setting the suction amt. of the ink much is taken to perform suction operation to transfer to the recording mode. |
