PURPOSE:To provide an engine torque fluctuation absorbing device absorbing the torque fluctuation of an engine during the idling operation. CONSTITUTION:During the idling operation, the field current is fed to a synchronous AC machine 2-1 directly connected to an engine from a battery 9 for the power generation action, and the output voltage of an inverter 7 is invariably applied while the battery 9 serves as a power source. When a rotation fluctuation occurs to increase the revolving speed of the engine, the phase of the inverter output voltage against the generated voltage is controlled based the detection signal of a rotor position detector 6 so that the synchronous AC machine 2-1 generates the torque hindering the rotation of the engine. When a rotation fluctuation occurs to reduce the revolving speed, the phase of the inverter output voltage against the generated voltage is controlled so that the synchronous AC machine 2-1 generates the torque to assist the rotation of the engine. The phase can be quickly changed, and the responsiveness of the control is good. The phase can be continuously changed little by little, the magnitude of the generated torque can be freely changed, and the rotation fluctuation is properly absorbed. |
