PURPOSE: To attach an integrated connecting rod to the crankpins of a builtup crankshaft at low cost and to ensure operation of the connecting rod. CONSTITUTION: This builtup crankshaft has crank journals 20-28 and crankpins 12-18, and at least the crankpins 12-18 are press or shrink fitted into boreholes in corresponding crank arms 30-44 and welded on their front sides. In some cases, to obtain a surely operating structure the crankpins 12-18 are cooled to a certain minus temperature and the crank arms 30-44 are rapidly heated in a circumferential region. In this case, a connecting rod 60 having a sliding bearing 64 and having its ends circumferentially connected together is slid onto the crankpins 12-18. Finally, the crank arms 30-44 are butted against the crankpins 12-18 and beam welded together on their respective front and circumferential sides. |
