An agent for producing swelling and setting sealing materials consists of a settable organic resin system which foams in contact with water, forming a gas and swelling up, as well as aggregates, fillers, additives and/or auxiliary substances, if required. The resin system consists of (a) an epoxide component; (b) a setting component, at least (a or b) containing water; and (c) a gas-builder which consists of a separate and dry mixture of one or several powdery amphoteric metals or metal hydrides on the one hand and calcium oxide on the other hand, and if required aggregates, fillers, additives and/or auxiliary substances. |
