PURPOSE:To print foreign letter lines beautifully by correcting properly an inter-letter pitch for each foreign letter corresponding to the breadth of the foreign letter formed. CONSTITUTION:When a printing key is operated after a text including foreign letters being input, a letter code indicated by a text painter is read out. When neither the letter code nor the next letter is a foreign letter (S60.S61: No), the width data of a letter indicated by the text pointer is set up as an inter- letter pitch without being corrected (S66). On the other hand, when a letter next to that indicated by the text pointer is a foreign letter, or when a letter indicated by the text painter is a foreign letter and the next letter is not a foreign letter (S60: No, S61: Yes), the inter-letter pitch is corrected according to established correction conditions (S62-S66). |
