Acoustic transmission system for remote control of selfreleasing anchors

Acoustic transmission system for remote control of selfreleasing anchors which are lodged with gripping mechanisms in the ground under water. The system is provided with an acoustic transmission device which is to be positioned near the surface of the water on a vessel or installation and a number of acoustic receiving devices which are individually arranged in each case on a separate anchor. The employed frequency band of the acoustic signals lies between approx. 50 and 1000 Hz. The acoustic transmission device comprises a data encoder and a sound source and each acoustic receiving device comprises a sound receiving element and a data decoder. The system is designed for remote control of anchors which can be lodged at least to around 20 m into the ground sediment. The transmission device with the data encoder and the sound source with associated drive circuit are designed to transmit short acoustic pulses with a pulse width of around 2-4 ms and a repetition rate of around 1 Hz. The transmitting device and the receiving device are furthermore respectively designed to transmit and receive code words comprising at least 14 bits.
