PURPOSE:To enable timbre variation corresponding to a key touch with a small waveform memory and a small hardware quantity as to the musical tone generating device which varies a timbre according to the key touch. CONSTITUTION:This musical sound generating device is equipped with a storage means 19 which stores waveform data, a musical tone generating means 18 which generates a musical tone signal from the waveform data, a velocity detecting means 50, a 1st coefficient generating means 51 which generates a 1st coefficient corresponding to a velocity value detected by the means, a 1st arithmetic means 20a which performs arithmetic between the 1st coefficient and the musical tone signal of the musical tone signal generating means, a frequency characteristic varying means 24 which varies frequency characteristics of the musical tone signal outputted by the 1st arithmetic means, a 2nd coefficient generating means 52 which generates a 2nd coefficient corresponding to the velocity value detected by the velocity detecting means, a 2nd arithmetic means 21a which performs arithmetic between the 2nd coefficient and the musical tone signal of the musical tone signal generating means, and a musical tone generating means which generates a musical tone on the basis of the musical tone signals outputted by the frequency characteristic varying means and 2nd arithmetic means. |
