PURPOSE:To obtain a developer to be used in contact or noncontact development having sufficient fluidity and chargeability and capable of obtaining a picture of a high quality level enhanced in picture density and reduced in fogging. CONSTITUTION:A metallic developing blade 3 is pressed on the surface of a developing roll 2 to control the thickness of the developer layer, and the developer is used in contact or noncontact development. The developer is obtained by mixing 0.01-5.0 pts.wt. of org. fine particles of polymer or copolymer and 0.1-2.0 pts.wt. of silica fine particles with 100 pts.wt. of the colored fine particles consisting of at least a binder resin and a colorant.
