One end of the flexible band (40) is fastened (33) to an inverted shallow V-shaped member which engages the top of the pipeline. The other end goes over a holding member on the other side of the inverted V and is held by a clamping screw (36) in a fixing device (35) which allows the length of the loop going round the pipeline (6) to be adjusted.The fittings holding the pipe are suspended from a shaft (21) which may be adjustably held in clamping jaws (12) fastened to the ceiling in a building or a tunnel. These jaws are made of two sheets of metal fastened together at intervals (13).
