PURPOSE:To provide the electronic equipment reducing power consumption and the power supply control method for the electronic equipment by supplying power to the transmission/reception part of the electronic equipment provided with first and second device respectively separately formed when it is detected that the first and second devices are in contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:This electronic equipment having a main body and a slave unit respectively separately formed is provided with communication controllers 24 and 110 arranged in respective main body and slave unit and transmitting/ receiving data between the main body and the slave unit, an attachment/ detachment detector 29 detecting that the main body and the slave unit are in contact with each other, and a power supply controller 1 supplying power to the communication controller 24 in the main body when this attachment/ detachment detector 29 detects that the main body and the slave unit are in contact with each other.
