PURPOSE:To provide a character extracting system which can prepare the index of a commodity from a commodity spec which is made into a data base and does not need a special changing operation at the time of preparing the index even when the printing page of a catalog changes. CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with a page setting means 2A setting the printing page of the catalog to a storage file 6B and a feedback means 2B updating the printing page of the commodity spec in a data base 6A, concerning the commodity in the catalog, into the printing page or the genre name of the catalog which is set by the page setting means 2A. Thereby, index preparing operation is easily executed and the printing page or the genre of the commodity spec in the data base 6A is updated to be constantly the newest so as to unnecessitate an operation which especially changes the printing page or the genre of the commodity. |
