PURPOSE:To effectively detect generation of a power failure of a trolley wire even under all operating conditions by filtering a specific frequency component and detecting its presence/absence when a voltage of the specific frequency component is superposed on a power source to be applied to the trolley wire at a substation side and the trolley wire voltage is, on the other hand, detected at an electric rolling stock side. CONSTITUTION:A harmonic wave voltage source 3 is superposed with harmonic wave voltage of a specific frequency component to a power source 1 of a substation. A harmonic wave component superposed on power to be supplied from the substation is detected by a detector 15 connected to a winding 9 at an electric rolling stock 5. Then, an output of the detector 15 is compared that of a setter 16 by a comparator 17, and when power is supplied from the substation, the detector 15 outputs a signal, and there is, on the other hand, no output of the comparator 17. When power supply is interrupted from the substation due to power failure, etc., the source 3 is also opened, and hence there is no output of the detector 15, and a signal is, on the other hand, output from the comparator 17. An output signal of the comparator 17 is applied to a controller 14 to stop operations of a PWM converter 12 and an inverter 13. |
