PURPOSE: To facilitate flow control when a liquid cryogen is dispensed into containers through, e.g. a food processing line, by attaching heating means to a plurality of dispensing tubes, and controlling nucleate boiling of the liquid cryogen caused by heating thereby. CONSTITUTION: This dispensing apparatus has a reservoir 12 including a container 15 for receiving a liquid cryogen 16 such as liquid nitrogen to be dispensed from a dispensing tube assembly 14, and the liquid cryogen 16 is supplied from a source through a supply tube 24. A phase separation tank 26 and a baffle chamber 34 are provided in the container 15 in order to prevent the liquid cryogen 16 from being ejected into the container 15 when supplied. The dispensing tube assembly 14 has a plurality of dispensing tubes 36, 38, 40 having respective heater coils 44, 46, 48 wound thereon, and transmission of electrical power from a power source 58 thereto is controlled by a timing circuit 56 to cause nucleate boiling of the liquid cryogen within each tube so as to control flow. |
