<p>A method for composting waste or refuse, in particular coarse refuse, such as bushes or the like, in which the waste is comminuted and transferred to a storage site, is to be improved in that the comminution of the waste takes place during its collection into the transport vehicle (10), and the comminuted refuse is directly passed by the said vehicle to a dumping gang (70).
