PURPOSE: To provide a data slicer including a comparator and a clamping circuit and to operate the clamping circuit for fixing a signal appearing at the 1st input of comparator at a predetermined voltage swing. CONSTITUTION: The 1st input of comparator is coupled through a capacitive element 18 for receiving an input signal. The clamping circuit includes a 1st diode 26 coupled between the 1st input of comparator and a 1st voltage V1 . The clamping circuit includes a transistor 24 having a conductive electrode coupled between a 1st power supply voltage terminal and the 1st input of comparator. The control electrode of transistor is coupled for receiving a 2nd voltage V2 . The 2nd input of comparator is coupled for receiving a bias voltage and this bias voltage is substantially equal with the midpoint of 1st voltage and 2nd voltage. The data slicer is provided with a hold circuit 50 forming the clamping circuit inactive. |
