PURPOSE:To easily clean and exchange a toner density detecting sensor and to accurately position it with respect to a photosensitive body by providing the toner density detecting sensor on the side of a unit different from the unit having the photosensitive body in an image forming device consisting of upper and lower units. CONSTITUTION:The toner density detecting sensor 23 is attached to the easing 8a of the transfer charger 8 of the upper unit 20. A positioning hole is made on the end block 8b of the transfer charger 8, and a positioning pin 24 protrusively provided on the lower unit 19 is fitted therein when the unit 20 is closed, so that the sensor 23 is positioned with respect to the photosensitive drum 4. Therefore, the sensor 23 is separated from the photosensitive body 4 when the upper and the lower units are opened. Therefore, cleaning is facilitated, and the sensor 23 is integrally taken out and exchanged at the time of exchanging the charger 8. |
