PURPOSE:To provide a demand controller capable of performing load control suited depending upon the situation at home or factory in a demand controller for reducing the quantity of total power used for load groups to that set for load groups. CONSTITUTION:When the quantity of total power used for load groups L1 to L3 has exceeded a target quantity of power set, a load state monitor portion 5 monitors the operating conditions of each load detected by state detecting portions N1 to N3 in accordance with the priority order preset; a judging portion 3 judges a load requiring the control of the operating conditions based on the results of monitoring; a control signal is output from a control signal output portion 4; and a state control portion Ml to M3 controls the operating state of each load based on the control signal.
