METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PRINTING-OUT OF NON-COMPLEX POLYGON BY USING VERTICAL SPAN

PURPOSE: To provide technique for plotting a non-complex polygon contour and for painting-out the inside, where a longitudinal span scanning system is used and an X Even0dd agreement is satisfied. CONSTITUTION: Three control planes are used for controlling the plotting and paint-out of a picture element. In a fill control plane 46 within the control planes, the bits of positions corresponding to the first and the last picture elements of respective longitudinal spans which constitute the polygon contour are painted-out. In an edge control plane 44, the bits of the positions corresponding to the picture element having a center on the diagonal edge of the polygon contour or the picture elements having the center at the start point and the end point of the respective edges are painted-out. In an Y-direction plane 42, it is indicated whether the edge faces to the positive direction or the negative position of a Y-axis by painting-out the bits at the position corresponding to the position which is painted-out in the edge control plane 44. The respective longitudinal spans are continuously processed in accordance with the contents of the three control planes and the directions in the plotting of the polygon contour so that the inside of the polygon is painted-out.
