PURPOSE:To obtain a light emitting detector having a high detection probability by reducing an erroneous detection by detecting light emission for only the timewise change of the luminance peculiar to a specific light emitting phenomenon for the light emitting phenomenon. CONSTITUTION:This device is composed of an image pickup device imaging the external world, an image memory circuit 2 storing image data by a frame unit for gradation image data to be the digital image signal that the image pickup device outputs, an image difference circuit 3 taking differences between the image before one frame which is stored in an image memory and the image in the frame of this time, an area extraction circuit 4 extracting a target area by the difference of a luminance level for the difference image obtained by it, a feature amount measuring circuit 5 measuring the centroid coordinate and the maximum luminance of the extracted area, a luminance pattern measuring circuit 7 measuring the timewise change of the maximum luminance and a target detection circuit 6 outputting the decision of the target and the centroid coordinate by the measured luminance pattern. |
