In a process for cleaning and drying respiration tubes (4) in a programmed laboratory dishwasher, the respiration tubes (4) are deposited, rising in circular or helical fashion along their length, on a supporting frame which is designed as an insertion rack (1), the cleaning or rinsing liquid and the drying air in the respective programme stages being delivered to the respiration tubes from one end, rising upwards from the bottom. The insertion rack (1) has for this purpose a supporting frame for the respiration tubes, which frame has one or more downwardly directed tube-stacking elements (3) arranged in spiral or helical fashion. The process guarantees a one hundred per cent internal rinsing and consequently also an internal cleaning of the respiration tubes since, during the rinsing procedure, a rinsing water column builds up in the respiration tube, which column flows through the respiration tube from bottom to top, regardless of the length of the tube, and also thoroughly rinses out the tube folds. The drying air in the respiration tube acts in a similar way. <IMAGE> |
