PURPOSE: To obtain a new material which can be mixed into a hydrophilic colloid layer of a photographic material while the mixed material is maintained as a non-transferring state by incorporating a specified dye into a hydrophilic colloid layer. CONSTITUTION: A photographic material is prepared to have a base body and at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a hydrophilic colloid layer containing a filter dye expressed by the formula. In the formula, (n) is 0 or 1, (p) is 0, 1 or 2, Q represents atoms necessary to form an acid nucleus such as pyrazolone and barbituric acid, R1 is hydrogen atom, a substd. or unsubstd. alkyl group, etc., X is OR5 , SR5 , etc., R5 is a hydrogen atom, a substd. or unsubstd. alkyl group, etc., L1 to L3 are substd. or unsubstd. methine groups, and at least one of L1 , L2 and L3 has a substituent CONR8 R9 , wherein R8 and R9 may be the same or different and are independently hydrogen atoms, substd. or unsubstd. alkyl groups, etc., and at least one of R1 to R9 is a group which can be ionized.
