The biofilter for cleaning soiled water, especially from a compost assembly, has a container (2) with an aeration unit (7). A filling (9) of bodies follows the aeration unit (7), in the flow direction, pref. of aerated concrete fragments.Also claimed is an assembly with a biofilter (1), which is controlled for the oxygen content of the waste water and the filtering speed, followed by a separation unit to separate air from the water.Also claimed is a process where the soiled water is initially aerated, and then cleaned by filling bodies (9) pref. as drops pref. of aerated concrete.
