Manufacture of window and door frames

A first e.g. vertical frame element of a frame is inserted with one end on the work table (9), with the longitudinal axis at right angles to the drilling axis. The position of the element is established by a detector (13) e.g. a light barrier. Depending on this a stop (16) travels out automatically for the endface of this element. The workpiece is brought into contact with the stop and fixed at the table (9). The drillings are made at the stop side of the workpiece on the long inner side of the frame element. The drilled workpiece is released and turned 180 deg. The stop travels according to the detected position. Drillings are then made at the opposite end of the frame element.A second e.g. a horizontal frame element with its longitudinal axis directed in the direction of the drilling axis, placed against a stop to facilitate the drill passage, is clamped in position and drilled corresp. to the drill image on one of the end faces. The second frame is turned 180 deg. after being released. With the side exchanged the element is pushed against the stop and secured on the working table. The other endface is drilled to correspond. Dowel pins are then inserted in both endfaces of this second frame element.
