Mechanically-damped liquid level detector

The liquid level detector contains a lever carrying a float and mounted in a housing on a float shaft which works in conjunction with a slide contact (18) movable along a slide path. The slide contact works with a slide contact shaft (7) wrt. which it is rotationally fixed. The coupling part (22) associated with the slide contact shaft is applied to the housing (1) and is thus braked. When the float shaft torque falls below the defined level, the coupling parts are moved to their initial relative positions by spring elements (29,30).
