PURPOSE:To improve the fitting performance by temporarily fixing and holding a seal ring in a ring groove when the seal ring is fitted into the ring groove by applying the shape setting so as to cross at the parts on the inside from both the edge parts, as for a seal ring which is made of synthetic resin having both the edge parts. CONSTITUTION:A seal ring 1 which is made of synthetic resin and has both edge parts is fitted with a ring groove such as the oil pump assembly of an automatic transmission, and the seal ring 1 is formed nearly in the same shape of a ring groove 3, in other words, the inside diameter is formed to the equal diameter to the bottom surface of the ring groove 3. In such the seal ring 1, shape setting is applied by setting the vicinity of the A point which is symmetrical at both the edge parts, inside the ring, so that each part on the inside from both the edge parts cross other. A superposed quantity is applied to both the edge parts by this shape setting, and when the seal ring 1 is spread on the diameter and fitted in the ring groove, the fixation holding to the ring groove of the seal ring 1 is performed by the return force to the inside diameter side. |
