The hermetically sealed box includes the box itself (5), chosen from those commercially available for encapsulating integrated circuits. This may be made of ceramic material to ensure sufficient rigidity and tolerance of extreme conditions. The box is hollow, with a flat base to receive the circuit chip (4).On the outer edges of the upper surface the box includes contact pads (6), to which J-shaped contacts (7) are attached. Wires link these contact pads to the circuit chip. The J-shaped contacts extend down the outside of the box, and curl underneath.
