The object of the present invention is to provide an x-ray mirror material of high reflectance having a surface roughness which is very small and further that the film density is large. A Pt alloy film is provided as a mirror surface. A reflecting surface material for an x-ray mirror is expressed as the general formula Pt1-x Mx.
