PURPOSE:To provide a heat transfer material capable of forming easily an infrared absorption pattern in an arbitrary form wherein though mechanical read-out is possible by an infrared readout device, visual observation is difficult. CONSTITUTION:In a heat transfer material 10, its principal part is constituted of a base sheet 11, peeling layer 12 and heat transfer layer 13. Then an infrared absorption pigment or infrared absorption dyes containing Fe<2+> and/or Cu<2+> as an infrared absorption substance having the same color as blue colored paper of an infrared reflective base is contained within the heat transfer layer 13. Therefore, an infrared absorption pattern having an arbitrary form can be formed easily on blue colored paper through a thermal head by making use of the heat transfer material 10 and though visual observation of the infrared absorption pattern becomes difficult since the infrared absorption substance contained within the infrared absorption pattern and the blue colored paper have the same color, mechanical readout by an infrared readout device becomes possible. |
