PURPOSE:To obtain a preventing and treating medicine for diseases caused by active oxygen, e.g. adult breath compression syndrome and arteriosclerosis by including a readily available and inexpensive human serum albumin as an effective component, free from fear of toxicity, side effects, etc., and having high safety. CONSTITUTION:For example, human fresh frozen plasma is thawed and the precipitation is removed by centrifugal separation and the supernatant is franctionated by a low temperature Cohn ethanol fraction method to remove fibrinogen, gamma-globulin, beta-globulin and alpha-globulin, and ethanol is added to the supernatant so that the concentration of ethanol in the supernatant may become 40% to provide an albumin fraction. The serum albumin obtained by this method is included as an effective component to provide the objective preventing and treating medicine for diseases owing to active oxygen. These diseases especially include adult breath compression syndrome, arteriosclerosis, lung edema, ulcerative colitis, pulmonary emphysema, endotoxinemia and cutaneous arteriolitis. |
