PURPOSE:To provide a NOx removing material and NOx removing method capable of efficiently removing NOx from waste combustion gases contg. oxygen of the stoichiometric quantity to NOx and unburned components, such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen and hydrocarbon, or above. CONSTITUTION:This NOx removing material is constituted by forming a first catalyst layer on the waste gas inflow side of the base body of the removing material made of ceramics or metal and forming a second catalyst layer on the waste gas outflow side of this base body. The first catalyst layer is formed by depositing 0.2 to 15wt.% (value in terms of the element) silver or silver oxide which is active species on a porous inorg. oxide. The second catalyst layer is formed by depositing 0.1 to 15wt.% (value in terms of the element) Cu which is active species or (a) 0.1 to 15wt.% expressed in terms of the element, Cu and (b) >=4wt.% at least one kind of the element selected from the group consisting of alkaline metal elements and rare earth elements on the porous inorg. oxide. |
